CHEHNI FORT/ KOTHI:
CHEHNI KOTHI is situated in Banjar Valley of district Kullu of Himachal Pradesh. This old architect lies in few kilometers above Banjar in Kullu Valley. This architect comes in the existence around 1500 years ago. One way to climb this tall tower through thickly cut wooden logs arranged as stair case.
This was constructed by the Himalayan King named Dadhiya. This masterpiece is a fine combination of traditional art and advance building technology of that period.
It used to be 15 floors but after the earthquake of 1905 only 10 floors remain. But despite of the wear and tear the KOTHI speaks for itself, the graddeur attached to it and the architectural skills of the artisans of that times.
The ground floor has a bigger spread than the upper floors which recede a little with each level to look like a conical temple spire. CHEHNI FORT/ KOTHI even has a 400 meters escape tunnel, which is now closed.
