GOLDEN PEAK OF KUMAON HIMALAYA, INDIA

Sunanda Devi (7434M/ 24390ft) often referred to as Nanda Devi East is one of the two adjacent peaks of the second highest mountain in India, the other being Nanda Devi. The graceful peaks of Nanda Devi and Sunanda Devi are visible from almost everywhere in Kumaon. The first ascent to the Sunanda Devi peak in recorded history appears to be in 1939 by J. Bujak and J. Klarner.

Shamrock Pea/ Blue oxalis is a brilliant blue flower from the Himalayas. From the leaves one could be forgiven for thinking it is a clover but the pea-like flower sets it apart. This little creeper covers itself with bright blue pea-like flowers during the flowering months. The three-part leaves have leaflets which are inverted heart-shaped.

1st photograph was taken at Kullu, Himachal Pradesh & 2nd one was taken at Pachu Glacier, Uttrakhand, India.
